Faux Freckles + Beauty Marks

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to tattooing. We also use a numbing gel throughout the process to keep you comfortable. Most people agree that the process is fairly painless, and 100% less than what they were expecting. Remember that everyone has a different pain threshold, and this is a tattoo. However, the procedure is relatively quick.

The length of time will vary due to skin type, skin care and lifestyle but on average, you will see your freckles last up to 1-2 years before you see them fade fully away.

The amount is very customizable. Anywhere from a little to a lot is possible. You will discuss this with your artist, as well as placement. They will be able to guide you to the look that works best for you and your lifestyle. For beauty marks, the cost includes up to 3 but you may add more for an additional cost.

All skin types work with faux freckles, however, since we are working on heavy oil producing areas, extremely oily skin types may not be ideal. This can cause lack of retention; therefore, we cannot guarantee results on extremely oily skin.

If any of the following apply, you are not a candidate for Microblading:

• Eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris and dermatitis (i.e., your skin is constantly flaking, itching, or aggravated)
• Autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, Cronh’s, Rheuatoid Athritis, Von Willebrand’s, Sjogren’s
• Prone to ­keloid scarring
• Any bleeding disorders
• Take blood-thinning medications
• Viral infections or diseases
• Currently using or have used Accutane within the last year
• Recently received Botox injections or fillers in the area (wait at least 4 weeks)
• Epilepsy
• Uncontrolled Diabetes (they need doctor’s approval)
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Under 18 
• Have an old, visible brow tattoo (no coverups)

Preparing for your appointment is just as important, for good healed results, as post care. Coming prepared to your appointment means a better overall experience. Failure to follow pre-care may result in you being sent home the day of your appointment, so please read the following carefully!

2-4 WEEKS BEFORE:

• Avoid using retinol products, acne treatments, or salicylic acid on the area to be treated for four weeks prior to your appointment.
• Refrain from deep exfoliation, such as chemical peels, in the area to be treated for two weeks prior to your appointment.
• Avoid filler or injections in the area to be treated for three weeks prior to your appointment.

1 WEEK BEFORE:

• Avoid sauna sessions or tanning.
• Discontinue the use of fish oil and Vitamin E.
• Refer to our FAQ about blood thinners. It is recommended to stop taking blood thinners according to the suggested guidelines. If you are on prescribed blood thinners, consult your doctor and inform us of their advice.

24 HOURS BEFORE:

• To minimize bleeding during the procedure, please avoid any alcohol and excessive caffeine.

DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:

• Avoid consuming caffeine.
• Ensure there are no acne spots, cuts, or open wounds in the area to be treated.
• Do not work out on the day of your appointment.
• Arrive with a makeup-free face.

Immediately after getting your tattoo, you may experience minor redness or swelling around the treated area, which typically goes away within 24 hours. Over the next few hours, the pigment in the skin will oxidize, making the freckles appear darker and warmer (red) than they were initially. This is normal and expected. Pigment typically fades anywhere from 30-50% once fully healed.

THINGS TO AVOID:

• Avoid wearing makeup on your face for 10 days.
• Do not scratch or pick at the treated area.
• Limit showers to 5-8 minutes and avoid long, hot showers for 10 days.
• Avoid using acid or manual exfoliants on the treated area.
• Avoid cleansing products containing acids or exfoliants.
• Do not use any topicals other than the provided healing cream.
• Avoid sweating, swimming, or using a sauna for 2 weeks.
• Avoid UV exposure or tanning during and after healing.
• Refrain from using acne products or hydroxy acids.
• Do not undergo laser light therapy.
• Avoid facials for 30 days. Certain facial treatments will fade the freckles faster (ex. chemical peels)
• Do not thread, wax, or use removal products on the treated area.

ONCE THE FRECKLES ARE HEALED:

• Faux freckle tattoos normally last around 1-2 years, depending on lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.
• Apply sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 50 or greater once completely healed to protect against fading and discoloration caused by sun exposure or tanning beds.
• Avoid using chemical exfoliants, as they may cause fading.
• Refrain from doing laser treatments near your face, as some lasers may change the color of the ink.
• Additional makeup application may be required post-tattoo to achieve your desired look.

Following the given aftercare is crucial to obtain the best results! All clients are expected to follow the following instructions exactly to get the best healed results! All products needed for your aftercare will be provided to you at your appointment.

• For the first 24 hours (Day 1), let the skin relax and do not wash or bathe the treated area.
• From Days 2 to 7, wash the area daily to remove bacteria, product buildup, oils, and dead skin and apply ointment.
• Gently wash your face each AM and PM with the provided cleanser and rinse with cool water. Use a light touch and fingertips to cleanse. Pat dry with a clean cotton pad.
• Apply a THIN layer of the provided ointment each AM and PM with a clean finger or q-tip, gently.
• Limit showers to 5-8 minutes to avoid creating excessive steam. Keep the treated area out of the water while washing your hair. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. Try to avoid soap or water running over the treated area, except during the initial cleanse.

Touchups are optional. However, should you want to add additional freckles or would like to darken the freckles and/or beauty marks from the initial session, then feel free to schedule a touchup appointment at 4-6 weeks. If you would like additional beauty marks, then feel free to schedule another beauty mark session at 4-6 weeks.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to book a cosmetic tattoo appointment and will be collected at your consultation, when an appointment is scheduled or will be sent via an invoice to be paid online.
